This presentation outlines The Lines Company’s key drivers for investing in a LiDAR survey for vegetation management and the arguments presented to support that decision. It also discusses the conscious compromises made at that time to balance the huge potential of spatial analytics (the many applications of the data) with the relative business maturity at that time (our constrained ability to extract that value). Finally, it discusses how the LiDAR project became a trigger point for a broader business digitisation and resource capability change programme.
