Description

Grid Enhancing Technologies (GETs) use sensors, controls, and software to extract more capacity and flexibility from the existing transmission system—often at a fraction of the cost of new infrastructure. This session features real-world deployment experiences and the results they have achieved. Great River Energy (GRE) deployed two types of Dynamic Line Rating (DLR) sensors to deliver lower-cost power and pinpoint disturbance locations—enabling faster, even proactive, system responses. Through these case studies, attendees will gain a practical understanding of how to evaluate, select, and integrate GETs to improve transmission performance and reliability.

Session Takeaways:
- How GRE evaluated and selected DLR vendors, and the cost savings and reliability benefits each technology delivered
- Practical strategies for overcoming common integration challenges and building a GET roadmap for your system
