Ahmad joined ComEd in 2025. He is a nationally recognized energy leader with over 20 years of experience in electric utility planning, engineering, operations, strategy and execution.
Prior to joining ComEd, Ahmad served as an executive advisor providing critical consulting and oversight services across the country to ensure the safe, reliable operation and maintenance of the electric system. He also spent over a decade at Pacific Gas and Electric Company where he held multiple leadership positions including Vice President of Transmission and Substation Operations, where he was responsible for the utility’s asset management, engineering, operations, maintenance and construction functions. During his time at PG&E, Ahmad also served as Vice President of Electric Operations, Projects and Construction, where he was responsible for all aspects of the transmission and distribution project’s engineering, design and construction, wildfire and grid resiliency, system inspections, process improvement, contract management and vegetation management.
Ahmad’s has also held engineering, consulting and leadership roles at Florida Power & Light, NextEra Energy, Entergy, Schlumberger and GE.
Ahmad holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Jordan University of Science and technology, a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of New Orleans, an MBA from Palm Beach Atlantic University and a certificate in Operational Excellence from MIT. He is also a certified Six Sigma Black Belt.
