John is a Section Manager of Con Edison’s Utility of the Future team, where he leads cross-functional efforts to integrate DERs into the utility system while advancing the company’s goals for electrification, reliability, innovation, and decarbonization. John’s primary areas of focus are FERC Order 2222 implementation, Smart Inverter integration, Rate Design, forecasting, data analytics, and control center modernization.

John currently represents Con Edison in the Joint Utilities of New York which collaboratively work on DER integration and implementation of New York’s Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA) . John is leading Con Edison’s adoption of the IEEE 1547-2018 Smart Inverter Standard, the implementation of FERC Order 2222 in NYISO wholesale markets, and development of a Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems (DERMS).

John has 14 years of utility experience in areas of electric distribution construction, project management, distribution control centers, and business development. He has extensive experience in construction and operations of various electric distribution systems including Distribution Automation design, overhead primary mesh, and underground meshed networks. John managed the day-to-day operations of the Manhattan Electric Control Center overseeing the dense network distribution systems that serve New York City. John holds a double major in Mechanical Engineering and Economics from Rutgers University and an MBA in Finance from New York University.
