Charlie Nobles heads Ubicquia’s utility business development efforts, and prior to his current role at Ubicquia, he led the utility sales effort to broaden market traction for Ubicquia’s innovative grid monitoring and lighting control solutions. Previously he led the utility metering organization for Progress Energy (now Duke Energy) and oversaw the complex AMI solution evaluation and selection process. Additionally, he managed outdoor lighting solutions for Sensus, an international smart meter and smart grid platform provider to the utility segment. In this role, he led utility engagements for these solutions in Europe.

Charlie has provided thought leadership and industry insights into the utility and grid markets through many publications and presentations at various industry conferences and events. He is an IEEE and EEI member and represents Ubicquia on the smart cities steering committee of CTIA, an advocacy organization representing the U.S. wireless communications industry.

Charlie holds a B.S. and M.S. in Engineering from Duke University, and an MBA from Kenan Flagler Business School.
