Freddie Wright is currently the Director of the Grid Investment Program at Georgia Power. In this role, he is responsible for the continued success of the Grid Investment Program, a multi-year initiative focused on enhancing service and reliability for communities across Georgia through strategic capital investments. Wright began his career with Southern Company in 1998 as a Distribution Engineer at Mississippi Power. He has held various roles across several of our electric utilities, including Outside Metro Distribution General Manager, Manager of the Northern Transmission Maintenance Area, Manager of Network Underground Services, Manager of Fleet Operations, and Manager of Substation Construction. Wright has served as the management sponsor of Oracle Field Services, ensuring we successfully provide the scheduling and communication tools necessary for meeting customer needs. He has also served as the management sponsor for the Power Delivery Employee Development Committee, Power Delivery Workforce Strategy Steering Committee, and Southern Company Power Delivery Distribution System Operations Group. Wright earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Mississippi State University and a master's in business administration from the University of Southern Mississippi. He is a graduate of the Georgia Power Leadership Development Council Program and Southern Company Operations Leadership Development Program.
