Dennis is a Lead Engineer in Transmission Substation Engineering and an expert on substation design and standards. He has over 15 years of progressive experience as a Professional Engineer in Electrical Utility engineering sector. As a lead engineer for planning, designing, constructing, operating, commissioning of Substations, management, and technical coordination of highly complex projects. He has successfully completed multi-million dollars projects on engineering design and construction of 138kV/230kV transmission lines, substations, renewable generation interconnections, grid modernization, battery energy storage systems, substation protection, automation and control. He is a member of IEEE Power & Energy Society Substations Committee and an Executive member of Protection and Control (P&C) and Distribution Automation Programs of Centre for Energy Advancement through Technological Innovation (CEATI), previously held positions in the CEATI’s Grounding and Lightning Program. He is a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Environmental Professional (EP) with Environmental Career Organization of Canada. Dennis has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Power Systems from University of Saskatchewan, Canada and a Master’s Degree on Professional Studies in Renewable Energy and Sustainable Systems from Pennsylvania State University, Pennsylvania, USA.
