James (Jim) Haw is a seasoned professional electrical engineer with over 35 years of diversified experience in the paper, plastics, electrical utility, and oil & gas industries. Recently, he joined IND as an Account Executive for North America, where his immediate focus is on showcasing IND’s Early Fault Detection system to foster a greater level of awareness in the US power transmission and distribution utilities sector. Jim is best known for his career as an automation professional and for creating the groundbreaking concept of the “born digital” industrial facility. His innovative "born digital" philosophy has earned him recognition and led to several published articles. This significant contribution was acknowledged by the International Society of Automation (ISA), which awarded him the 2023 Excellence in Technical Achievement award for envisioning, creating, and implementing the “Born Digital” concept in a new plastics recycling facility. Jim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and is a registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas. His leadership within the International Society of Automation is noteworthy, having served at the local, regional, and national levels. In addition to his engineering qualifications, Jim is a Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) and a Project Management Professional (PMP).
