Kristi Knight is the Vice President, Internal Audit & Compliance at Cobb EMC. Kristi’s team provides assurance and compliance oversight for Cobb EMC and subsidiary Gas South. In this role she serves on the Gas South management committee, and on the Risk Management Committee which oversees the corporate enterprise risk management program. She is also a co-executive sponsor of Cobb EMC’s women’s employee resource group. Kristi’s designations include Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional, Certified Management Accountant, and Certification in Risk Management Assurance. Kristi has worked in the electric utility industry for almost 20 years. Prior to Cobb EMC, she held roles in compliance enforcement training and internal audit at the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC). Kristi started in the utility industry at Florida Municipal Power Agency with roles of increasing responsibility in finance and risk management. She began her career in auditing with the Audit Bureau of Circulations, now named Alliance for Audited Media. Kristi holds an MBA from Iowa State University and a B.A. magna cum laude from Iowa Wesleyan College. She is also a proud graduate of the NRECA Robert I. Kabat Management Internship Program, an immersive executive education program for electric cooperative professionals. Away from work, Kristi is a board member and volunteer mentor for Marietta Mentoring for Leadership, a non-profit dedicated to supporting high-potential, under-resourced youth. Kristi lives in Marietta, Georgia and loves to travel with her husband and daughter.
