Rachel Williams serves as vice president of Transmission Field Operations at Georgia Power. In this role, she leads the strategic direction for Transmission Construction, Transmission Maintenance and Support and Project Management along with managing the Transmission capital portfolio.

Prior to her current role, Williams served as director of Georgia Power’s Grid Investment Program establishing the strategic direction to ensure the successful execution of the 2023 - 2025 plan to invest $1.4 billion of capital expenditures in our Transmission and Distribution system to ensure optimal reliability, performance, and affordability. She has over 26 years of experience in the electric utility industry, specializing in power delivery operations, and has held various roles and responsibilities across all the Southern Company electric utilities and Southern Company Services.

Williams previously served as general manager of Transmission Maintenance and Support, Project Management, and Distribution Field Operations. She also served as the assistant to the executive vice president of Customer Service and Operations and the senior vice president of Customer Strategy and Solutions.

She served as the chair of the Southern Company Power Delivery system performance steering committee, advancing system-wide efforts around reliability, winterization, material supply, condition-based maintenance, and inspection modernization utilizing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). Williams has also led Power Delivery efforts to develop and implement new strategies that significantly increased underrepresented new employee hires and retention.
Williams is the management sponsor of the Asian Pacific American and Military Veterans in Power employee resource groups, co-founder and sponsor of the Power Delivery Women in Network group, and a member of the Board of Directors for 21st Century Leaders and Georgia 811.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with a power systems specialization and an MBA in finance from the University of Alabama – Birmingham. Williams is a native of Bessemer, Alabama and currently resides in Peachtree City, Georgia with husband Chris and their five children, Kristina, Madison, Anslee, Aaron, and Quinn.
