Location Name
Ballroom A1
Description

Commercial vehicle electrification is coming to the U.S., quickly in some areas of the country. Fleet owners and operators, commercial warehouse owners and managers and many others expect to receive the needed electricity to charge these vehicles in a timely manner. This plenary session will focus heavily on regulations. It is designed to educate Fleet Owners, OEMs and utilities on the regulatory environment within which different utilities must work. In addition, it is designed to educate the audience about existing and upcoming mandates to which fleet owners and operators must adhere, such as Advanced Clean Truck Rule and Advanced Clean Energy Rule.

Phil Jones, Executive Director of Alliance for Transportation Electrification will moderate this panel of experts who represent various regulatory agencies, utilities, and more.

Key takeaways:

• Utilities must work within the existing regulatory requirements, which aren’t always conducive to quick responses and needed timelines.

• Fleet owners and operators in some states have clean energy mandates that do not allow them to delay electrification.

• Utilities, fleet owners and operators and regulators must work together to meet the ultimate goal of electrifying much of the nation's medium- and heavy-duty trucks.
